Description: Benadryl Allergy Relief Plus Decongestant Capsules are a medication formulated to alleviate symptoms associated with allergies, particularly hay fever. These capsules contain two active ingredients, acrivastine and pseudoephedrine, which work together to provide relief. Acrivastine is an antihistamine that helps reduce allergy symptoms, while pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that relieves sinus congestion and a blocked nose. When the body encounters an allergen, the immune system releases chemicals, including histamine, which causes various allergy symptoms. Histamine leads to enlarged blood vessels, which can result in a blocked nose due to inflammation. Pseudoephedrine works by reducing blood vessel inflammation, thereby relieving congestion. To use Benadryl Allergy Relief Plus Decongestant Capsules: Adults and children 12 years and older: Take one capsule as needed, up to three times a day, orally. Children under 12 years: This product is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age. The Elderly: This product is not recommended for use in the elderly. Precautions: Contraindications: Avoid this product if you have a known hypersensitivity to the product, any of its components, or triprolidine. It is also contraindicated in individuals with severe hypertension or severe coronary artery disease. Concurrent use of pseudoephedrine-containing products and monoamine oxidase inhibitors can occasionally raise blood pressure, so avoid using them together.
